The first issue of Al-Rafidain Engineering Journal (AREJ) was published in 1993 by the college of engineering – University of Mosul. The journal publishes Engineering Science articles at an average rate of two issues/year (Bi-annually). AREJ publishes original and valuable engineering research papers aiming at developing the knowledge in the fields of applied engineering science. 

Al-Rafidain Engineering Journal (AREJ) includes (but not limited to) the following fields: 

1- Civil Engineering

2- Electrical Engineering

3- Mechanical Engineering

4- Dames and Water Resources Engineering          

5- Architectural Engineering

6- Computer Engineering

7- Mechatronics Engineering

8- Environmental Engineering 

Should contribute to the article submitted for publication in the development of engineering sciences in various fields, accordingly  it will be considered as one of the innovative and distinctive articles in these areas. AREJ uses iThenticate for plagiarism check to ensure the originality of the submitted manuscripts. A double-blind peer reviewing system is also used to assure the quality of publication, the article may be accepted/rejected for publication.

Al-Rafidain Engineering Journal (AREJ)  is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access.

In an open access model, the publication costs of an article is paid from an author's research budget, or by their supporting institution. Al-Rafidain Engineering Journal (AREJ) is an Open Access journal; therefore, publishing an article in this journal requires a payment of  ($100) US for non-Iraqi authors and (100000) Iraqi dinars for Iraqi authors, for an accepted manuscript to be published. There is no submission or processing fee required.
